The ever vigilant Sir Richard Branson has taken note of the great opportunites to privide private jet travel through a network of operators. Virgin Charter, a full service online marketplace that makes it easier than ever to purchase and book private air travel, recently announced that Brian Pope has been promoted to chief operating officer. Pope, who previously held the position of chief marketing officer, will now oversee Virgin Charter’s operating groups including Marketing and will continue to report to CEO Scott Duffy.

The annual ARC transcontinental Air Race Classic is June 24-27. Our team, Classic 8, is piloted by Tamra Sheffman (L) and Kristen Jurn (R) , shown here at their  http://www.flyawaywithus.org launch party in Miami. Tamra and Kristen invite your support of their efforts at InterFlightStudio Gallery owners Oscar and Yvette Garcia  hosted the well attended event on June 7:  History of the Air Race Classic Women’s air racing all started in 1929 with the First Women’s Air Derby. Twenty pilots raced from Santa Monica, CA to Cleveland, OH, site of the National Air Races. Racing continued through the ‘30’s and was renewed again after WWII when the All Women’s Transcontinental Air Race (AWTAR), better known as the Powder Puff Derby, came into being. The Air Race Classic was incorporated in 2002 into the Air Race Classic, Inc., a non-profit 501(c)3 organization. http://www.airraceclassic.org |
